Professor Ahmet Fuat

Honorary Professor, Durham University · GP & GPSI Cardiology (25+ years) · National Programme Director, CliniLink A Darlington GP for 40 years and one of the UK's leading voices in primary care cardiology. Professor Fuat established the UK's first one-stop integrated heart failure clinic in 2002, earned his PhD researching heart failure diagnosis and natriuretic peptides, and has shaped NICE and ESC guidelines on CVD and heart failure — with his HF work featured in the BHF Blueprint for Heart Failure. Fellow of the RCGP, RCP London, RCP Edinburgh, the ESC and the PCCS, he sits on the editorial boards of the British Journal of Cardiology and the Primary Care Cardiovascular Journal. He teaches because translating evidence into everyday practice is where patient care is won.

Emily Turner

Lead GP Practice Pharmacist, Leeds · Clinical Educator, Royal Pharmaceutical Society · England CVDPREVENT Audit Clinical Panel A Lead GP Practice Pharmacist in Leeds with a special interest in cardio-renal disease and a national voice in CVD prevention. Emily sits on England's CVDPREVENT Audit Clinical Panel and the National AF Expert Advisory Group, and is a Clinical Educator for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Doha Ben-Hamed

Doha is a senior clinical pharmacist, independent prescriber, and senior lecturer in clinical pharmacy, working across the North East. She has a specialist interest in cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic (CVRM) health within diabetes care and leads on medicines optimisation, clinical education, and system‑wide improvement. Doha is currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in diabetes, further strengthening her expertise and her commitment to supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care for people living with diabetes.

William Burlace

William is a Clinical Pharmacist with over 10 years of experience across community pharmacy and primary care. He graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2013 and later completed his Independent Prescribing qualification at the University of Salford, initially specialising in diabetes and leading diabetes review clinics. William has since developed a specialist interest in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and general renal medicine. He is currently one of the lead pharmacists delivering an Integrated Care Board (ICB)-wide CKD improvement programme, focused on enhancing patient outcomes, increasing awareness, and improving education around CKD across primary care. In addition, William serves as a Board Member of the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Renal Network, where he works to strengthen collaboration between primary care, secondary care, and community pharmacy to improve renal services and patient care. William is passionate about improving patient outcomes, particularly within underserved communities. He believes that strong neighbourhood collaboration, multidisciplinary working, and high-quality education are essential to reducing health inequalities and delivering better care for patients with long-term conditions.
