Hannah Beba

Hannah Beba is an RPS-approved Consultant Pharmacist at West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, working across primary and integrated care to improve outcomes for people living with diabetes and tackle health inequalities. She chairs the Leeds and West Yorkshire Expert Reference Groups for Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Medicine and is Clinical Lead for the Partnership’s obesity portfolio. Nationally, she is Co-Chair of the Council of Healthcare Professionals at Diabetes UK and a committee member of the Primary Care Diabetes and Obesity Society. A clinical academic and educator, Hannah speaks at national conferences, tutors on the University of Warwick MSc Diabetes programme and is an NIHR pre-doctoral fellow researching renal care for people with diabetes in primary care.

Dr Waqas Tahir

Dr Waqas Tahir is a practising GP and partner at Affinity Care, a multi-site partnership serving 65,000 patients. He is also a specialist GP in diabetes and cardiometabolic medicine, with a particular interest in translating evidence into practice, multimorbidity, technology and innovation in patient care. He is a standing member of the NICE Indicator Advisory Committee and has contributed to NICE Quality Standards for type 1 and type 2 diabetes. He is the ICS Clinical Diabetes Lead for West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership and Diabetes and Obesity Clinical Lead for the NHS North East and Yorkshire regional medical team. Dr Tahir is passionate about reducing health inequalities and improving diabetes awareness and prevention. He is also involved with Diabetes UK, PCDOS (UK), the PCDE Education Committee and the Executive Board of PCDE Europe.
