THE GAP WE'RE CLOSING

You qualified to dispense.
Now you're expected to diagnose.

Pharmacy First was a transformational opportunity. Three years on, the gap between what the service specification asks of community pharmacy and what most pharmacists were trained for is still real.

WHAT YOU'RE BEING ASKED TO DO

01

Examine ears, throats and lymph nodes

Clinical skills not covered in dispensing training.

02

Apply PGD eligibility criteria

Where one wrong decision is a breach.

03

Say no to antibiotic demands

Harder than saying yes. Patient expectations are high.

04

Document every decision

To a standard that protects you professionally.

All while running a busy pharmacy.

THIS COURSE

Built to close that gap.

Genuinely peer-led.   Genuinely practical.

Designed by primary care pharmacists who deliver Pharmacy First themselves.

Why pharmacists choose CliniLink?

  • Built by clinicians

Every minute of teaching reflects what actually happens at the counter, not theoretical case studies written by content writers.

  • The downloads are the differentiator

Use an icon and text to communicate the value proposition and share the specific benefits of your offering. What makes it unique in your market?

  • Built around real pharmacy life

Short videos, mobile-optimised. Lifetime access. Built for pharmacists who don't have weekends to spare.

What you will master

  • Apply every NHS Pharmacy First clinical pathway with confidence

  • Use FeverPAIN, Centor and validated scoring tools like a clinician

  • Spot the red flags that should never go under a PGD

  • Perform focused clinical examinations: otoscopy, lymph node palpation, throat exam

  • Apply antimicrobial stewardship while managing patient expectations

  • Document consultations to a standard that protects you professionally

  • Have the difficult conversations: declining antibiotics, explaining referrals

  • Evidence your learning for GPhC revalidation

WHAT IT'S WORTH

Why £120 is the obvious investment

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions before you enrol in Pharmacy First Mastery.

ABOUT THE COURSE

How long does the course take to complete?

The course contains 23 lessons and around 2.5 hours of video content. Combined with case study work, knowledge checks, reflective practice, and applied learning at the counter, it is CPD-accredited for 7 hours. Most learners complete it across 2 to 3 weeks at a pace that fits around their pharmacy work. You have lifetime access, so there is no deadline.

Who is this course for?

The course is built for community pharmacists, locum pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians delivering or supporting the NHS Pharmacy First service in England. It is also suitable for primary care pharmacists and clinical pharmacists who want a structured refresher on all 7 clinical pathways.

Do I need to complete the lessons in order?

No. We recommend the order if it is your first time delivering Pharmacy First, but you can jump straight to specific pathways if you are refreshing or focusing on a particular condition. The Welcome chapter and Pharmacy First Introduction are best completed first.

What technical setup do I need?

Any internet-connected device. The course works on desktop, tablet, and mobile. We recommend headphones for the clearest audio in busy pharmacy environments. You will need a PDF viewer to open the downloadable checklists.

CERTIFICATE AND CPD

Is the CPD certificate recognised by the GPhC?

Yes. The course is CPD-accredited for 7 hours and aligned with GPhC standards for pharmacy professionals. The reflective account template is structured around the nine GPhC standards. The certificate is suitable evidence for GPhC revalidation and for pharmacy contractor records.

How do I earn the CPD certificate?

You need to complete three things: complete all lessons across every chapter, pass the final assessment (75% pass mark), and submit a brief reflective account using the template provided. Your certificate is issued as a downloadable PDF within 2 working days of approval, with a unique verifiable ID.

Can I retake the assessment if I do not pass first time?

Yes. You have 3 attempts at the final assessment. After each attempt you will see which areas to review before retaking. If you are still struggling after 3 attempts, contact [email protected] and we will help.

Will the course be updated when the Pharmacy First service spec changes?

Yes. We update content when NICE guidance, NHS service specifications, or PGDs are revised. Your lifetime access includes these updates at no additional cost.

COST, REFUNDS AND CONSUMER RIGHTS

Can I claim this course as a business expense?

Yes. Professional CPD is tax-deductible for both pharmacists and pharmacy contractors. For a higher-rate taxpayer, the net cost after tax relief is around £72. Speak to your accountant for your specific situation.

Do you offer team licences for contractors and PCNs?

Yes. We offer discounted multi-seat licences for pharmacy groups, contractors, and PCNs delivering Pharmacy First across multiple sites. Email [email protected] for a quote.

IMPORTANT

What is your refund policy?

Due to the nature of digital content and the immediate availability of downloadable clinical resources (PGD checklists, reflective practice templates, and reference materials), this course is non-refundable once purchased. To help you decide, the Free Preview option lets you sample lessons before enrolling. We strongly encourage using it before committing.

LEGAL WAIVER

What about my 14-day cancellation right under UK consumer law?

Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers normally have a 14-day cancellation right when buying digital content online. However, this right can be waived where the buyer agrees to immediate access to digital content.

By enrolling in this course, you expressly agree that:

1. You wish to access the course content immediately upon purchase.

2. You understand that once you access the downloadable materials and start the course, you waive your 14-day right of cancellation under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

3. You have had the opportunity to sample the course content via the Free Preview before purchase.

This waiver is the standard approach for digital CPD products and protects the integrity of the downloadable clinical resources included in your purchase.

What happens if I have a technical issue accessing the course?

If you experience technical difficulties accessing the course content within 14 days of purchase, contact us at [email protected]. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly. Technical access problems are not the same as a change of mind, and we will always help.

What if I purchased the course by mistake or twice?

If you have accidentally purchased the same course twice, contact [email protected] within 7 days of purchase. We will review and refund the duplicate transaction.

SUPPORT

Is this suitable for pharmacy technicians?

Yes. The course is built for the whole pharmacy team supporting Pharmacy First. Technicians find the red flag training and PGD eligibility content particularly valuable for triage and safe referral to the responsible pharmacist.

What if I have a clinical question during the course?

You can email the CliniLink clinical team at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 2 working days. For clinical emergencies or patient safety concerns at the point of care, follow your local pharmacy escalation protocols and contact NHS 111 or 999 as appropriate.

How do I get help if I am stuck on the platform?

For technical issues with Thinkific, use the chat icon at the bottom right of your screen. For all clinical or course content questions, email [email protected].

Where can I leave feedback about the course?

After completing the final assessment, you will receive an email asking for feedback. You can also email feedback at any time to [email protected]. We use all feedback to improve the course for the next cohort.
